Editing is a long, hard task. Some writers enjoy it, and others hate it. But no matter where you stand, we all know it is a necessity.
Editing will pay off forever once you're finished, and your agents and readers will thank you for all the grueling hours you put into it. That is a great reward, but until then, you have to celebrate the little victories.

Who doesn’t love to be rewarded for a job well done? It’s fun and exciting, and the rewards are often nice too! Rewards can be that thing that gives us the burst of motivation that we need to keep on going.
It’s important to remind ourselves that we are doing well as we meet our writing and editing goals and continually take one step closer to publishing our book. If we don’t, it’s easy to quickly get discouraged and tell ourselves that we’re “not good enough.”

So, if you haven’t already started implementing goals and rewards for reaching those goals, now is a great time to start! That’s do everything that we can to stick with our books and see them through to the end!
Evaluate your existing goals (or make some new ones) and find milestones that would be great places to include a reward to motivate you.
Determine what your rewards will be. Rewards can be as simple as watching your favorite movie or buying a new book and as extravagant as going on a day trip or treating yourself to your favorite pastime.
Set your different rewards in place for each goal, and enjoy them when you get there!
